Lactobacillus gasseri KS-13

◐ Food-origin
Sequenced
Public genome assembly available

Lactobacillus gasseri KS-13 has been studied primarily in combination with other strains, making strain-specific conclusions difficult to draw from the available evidence. Two randomized controlled trials, one published in 2015 and one in 2017, evaluated a three-strain combination (KS-13 with Bifidobacterium bifidum G9-1 and Bifidobacterium longum MM-2) in older adults and in individuals with seasonal allergies, examining inflammatory cytokine profiles and allergy-related quality of life as outcomes; the multi-strain design means these outcomes cannot be attributed to KS-13 alone. Strain-specific human evidence for L. gasseri KS-13 is limited. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
