Clostridium tarantellae is a spore-forming anaerobic bacterium within the Clostridium genus, a taxonomically diverse group that includes both environmental organisms and recognized pathogens. The available research record for this species is extremely limited: one observational case report documented a fatal systemic infection in a wild raccoon dog, and one whole-genome sequencing study addressed genus-level taxonomy.
