Ligilactobacillus salivarius PS2
Ligilactobacillus salivarius PS2 (formerly Lactobacillus salivarius PS2) has been studied specifically in the context of lactational mastitis, a breast infection that can occur in breastfeeding women. It has been examined in multiple randomized controlled trials of oral supplementation during pregnancy and lactation, including biomarker measurements in breast milk and blood. An animal model study also examined this strain in the context of rotavirus-associated diarrhea. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
