Ligilactobacillus salivarius
Ligilactobacillus salivarius (species-level entry, no specific strain designation) is an oral and intestinal lactic acid bacterium studied across several strains for immune modulation and respiratory health. A randomized controlled trial examined L. salivarius LS01 in children with asthma, and animal studies have examined long-term protection outcomes against Streptococcus pneumoniae in certain strains. An observational report examined immune and nutritional markers in elderly nursing home residents given another strain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because the linked evidence spans multiple distinct strains, strain-specific conclusions cannot be drawn; the species has been studied in immune and respiratory contexts, but human evidence remains preliminary and strain-dependent. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 333 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
