Limosilactobacillus fermentum MG901
Limosilactobacillus fermentum MG901 (formerly Lactobacillus fermentum MG901) is a strain originally isolated from vaginal microbiota of Korean women, and its research profile centers on vaginal health and antimicrobial applications. In vitro studies have examined activity against Candida albicans and Gardnerella vaginalis — two organisms associated with vaginal imbalance — and animal studies have examined antimicrobial effects in relevant infection models. More recent in vitro work has explored postbiotic preparations (cell-free supernatants from the strain) in the context of oxidative stress in skin cells, and a 2024 animal study examined its use in the context of menopausal symptom models. All available evidence is preclinical; no human clinical trials specific to this strain were identified in the research index. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 6 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
