Limosilactobacillus fermentum ME-3
Limosilactobacillus fermentum ME-3 (formerly Lactobacillus fermentum ME-3) is a strain isolated in Estonia. Its capacity to produce and recycle glutathione, a key antioxidant, has been documented in laboratory settings. Human randomized controlled trials and observational studies have examined the strain in relation to antioxidative markers, blood lipid profiles, and inflammatory cytokines; in vitro studies have examined intestinal barrier integrity under stress conditions; and animal studies have explored its role in infection models. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
