Bacillus safensis

◑ Environmental
Sequenced
Public genome assembly available

Bacillus safensis is an aerobic, spore-forming bacterium originally isolated from spacecraft assembly facilities and studied primarily in environmental and agricultural contexts. In vitro research has characterized its lipase-producing capacity, antimicrobial compound production, and plant growth-promoting properties such as phosphate solubilization. No research specifically addressing its probiotic potential in humans or animals was identified in the current evidence base. It is not a recognized probiotic strain, and available data do not support health-benefit claims for this organism.
