Bifidobacterium bifidum Bb-02
Bifidobacterium bifidum BB-02 is a strain studied primarily in combination formulations alongside other Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus species. In vitro work has examined its stability in food matrices such as yogurt and white-brined cheese, and a human randomized trial of a synbiotic blend examined gut microbiota composition in elderly participants. A subset of the clinical evidence comes from neonatal and preterm infant studies using multi-strain products, where BB-02 appeared as one component rather than a sole intervention. Strain-specific conclusions remain limited by the multi-strain study designs across this evidence base. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 13 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
