Lacticaseibacillus paracasei IMC 502
Lacticaseibacillus paracasei IMC 502 is most frequently studied as part of the dual-strain combination SYNBIO (paired with L. rhamnosus IMC 501). A randomized controlled trial in healthy adults examined the SYNBIO combination in the context of bowel regularity, and in vitro work has examined antimicrobial activity against several pathogens, including those associated with chronic ulcerative lesions. Animal model research has examined gut microbiota composition in the context of metabolic disruption. European regulatory review of a SYNBIO health claim regarding normal defecation did not find the evidence sufficient to support the claim. Strain-specific evidence isolating IMC 502's individual contribution is limited. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 8 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
