Prevotella copri

◔ Human-origin
Sequenced
Public genome assembly available

Prevotella copri is a gut commensal bacterium, not a commercial probiotic, whose research profile is complex and actively debated. Observational and mechanistic studies have examined P. copri abundance in relation to glucose metabolism in certain dietary contexts, as well as in relation to rheumatoid arthritis and gut permeability in other populations. It is not available as a supplement and is not currently used in human probiotic formulations. No strain-specific evidence for supplementation outcomes appears in the indexed record for this organism. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
