Lactiplantibacillus plantarum
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (formerly Lactobacillus plantarum) is a well-characterized lactic acid bacterium found across fermented foods, the human gut, and diverse environmental niches. It has been studied primarily through in vitro and animal-model research examining gut barrier function, the intestinal microbial environment, and intestinal histomorphology and microflora composition. In vitro work has documented antibacterial activity and tolerance to gut conditions, properties relevant to colonization potential. No controlled human trials appear in the indexed evidence for this species. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
