Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus SP1
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus SP1 has been studied in multiple randomized controlled trials with a notable focus on oral health. Trials have examined this strain in the context of non-surgical management of chronic periodontitis (gum disease) and Candida-associated denture stomatitis in older adults. More recent trials have also explored children's dental health and, in preliminary work, sleep quality and mood. In vitro research has examined barrier function in intestinal cell models. The oral health evidence base is more developed than other applications, which remain at an exploratory stage.
