Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LR
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LR appears in a range of in vitro and animal studies spanning oral health, gut barrier function, and metabolic research, areas consistent with the broader L. rhamnosus species literature. In vitro work has examined tight junction protein expression in intestinal epithelial cell models and antibiofilm activity against Porphyromonas gingivalis, a key periodontal pathogen, for this strain and multi-strain formulations containing it. Two small randomized controlled trials examined probiotic-supplemented cheese and oral Candida levels in denture wearers; the multi-strain nature of those products limits attribution to LR specifically. Animal studies have examined epigenetic markers and lipid metabolism. Human evidence attributable to this specific strain designation is limited. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
