Lactobacillus helveticus MIMLh5
Lactobacillus helveticus MIMLh5 is a respiratory-tract probiotic strain studied for its interaction with the pharyngeal mucosa, the tissue lining the throat and tonsils. In vitro research has examined its surface layer protein (S-layer) in relation to uptake by dendritic cells, the sentinels of the innate immune system, and cytokine responses. Observational and in vitro studies have examined adhesion of Group A Streptococcus to pharyngeal epithelium and the frequency of nose and throat infections in children, though randomized controlled trial evidence is limited. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 14 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
