Bifidobacterium bifidum BGN4
Bifidobacterium bifidum BGN4 is a probiotic strain with a sequenced genome that has been studied primarily through in vitro and animal model research. Laboratory work has investigated antioxidant properties, including engineered variants expressing antioxidant enzymes, and animal studies have examined compounds produced by this strain in relation to gut microbial balance and inflammatory markers in intestinal tissue. One early animal study also examined a polysaccharide fraction in cancer-cell assays, exploratory work not applicable to human health claims. Strain-specific human clinical evidence is not currently available. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
