Enterococcus gallinarum
Enterococcus gallinarum is an intrinsically vancomycin-resistant enterococcal species — a normal inhabitant of the intestinal tracts of birds and mammals — that appears across clinical, food, water, and environmental settings. Its research record is dominated by antimicrobial resistance surveillance: it carries inherent resistance to the VanC gene cluster, which confers low-level vancomycin resistance and is of concern in clinical settings, particularly among immunocompromised patients. The literature associated with this species involves prevalence studies in poultry, raw milk, water samples, and hospital patient isolates, with a focus on resistance patterns and virulence factors. E. gallinarum is not a recognized probiotic organism and is described here in a taxonomic and epidemiological context only.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 232 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
