Lacticaseibacillus casei Zhang
Lacticaseibacillus casei Zhang (formerly Lactobacillus casei Zhang), originally isolated from traditional Mongolian fermented dairy, has been studied across a range of animal models examining gut health, immune function, and metabolic parameters. Animal research has examined intestinal mucosal integrity, immune markers in gut-associated lymphoid tissue, and lipid metabolism in hypercholesterolemic models. One in vitro study examined binding of microcystin-LR, a cyanobacterial toxin, though this has not been evaluated in humans. All available strain-specific evidence originates from in vitro and animal studies; human clinical trial data for L. casei Zhang specifically have not been identified in this index. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
