Bifidobacterium longum R0175
Bifidobacterium longum R0175 is most commonly studied as part of a combination formula with Lactobacillus helveticus R0052, and several RCTs using this pair have examined anxiety and psychological well-being in healthy adults. Animal studies have examined liver-related outcomes and behavioral effects, and in vitro work has examined gut-epithelial interactions and the metabolomic profile of the strain's secretome. A 2024 RCT in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease, using a multi-strain blend including R0175, examined oxidative stress markers, though isolating the contribution of this specific strain from combination data is not possible. Most human data on R0175 come from multi-strain contexts rather than this strain in isolation. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
