Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1
Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 is a human-origin probiotic strain with one of the broader clinical research bases among L. acidophilus strains. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have examined its use in the context of functional constipation in children, irritable bowel syndrome in adults, and gut microbiota in aging animal models. In vitro comparisons have examined DDS-1 relative to plant- and dairy-derived competitors on probiotic functional markers. The body of human RCT evidence is still growing. These are research topics, not findings; the papers do not establish that this strain treats or prevents any condition.
Where it's been studied Tags come from a conservative keyword scan of each paper's title, abstract, and summary. A tag is research coverage, not measured effect. How we classify this →
Share of this strain's 23 body-system-tagged papers that concern each system. Research coverage, not measured effect.
Symptoms in the research A tag means the paper's text names the symptom or condition — research coverage, not evidence of benefit. How we classify this →
