Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Lpc-37 is among the better-studied commercial probiotic strains, with multiple randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials in its literature record. Human RCTs, including the Sisu and ChillEx studies, have examined psychological stress markers and anxiety in healthy adults. Additional human research has examined immune function in elderly individuals, gut microbiota composition in young children, and short-chain fatty acid profiles. Animal and in vitro work has examined opioid and cannabinoid receptor expression in connection with visceral pain perception.
